ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

HR Team are recruiting for a female religious congregation based in
South County Dublin.

We are very excited to announce the expansion of the team and are
looking to recruit an experienced Staff Nurse.

JOB DETAILS

CONTRACT TYPE: Full time, Permanent
LOCATION: South County Dublin
SALARY: As per HSE Guidelines

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Healthcare Coordinator, the Staff Nurse will assess,
plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and
ethical standards. Provide holistic, person centred care, promoting
optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life of
our?Sisters.
Adhering to national and local guidelines,?policies, protocols?and
legislation.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism and be accountable for
their own practice, caring for our Sisters and maintaining their
privacy and respecting their dignity and spiritual needs. Deliver the
nursing care required for our Sisters?while promoting their health,
welfare and social wellbeing.
Actively participating as a multi-disciplinary team member in all
aspects of service delivery, care plans, developing
good?interpersonal relationships with the Sisters, their family /
social network supports and the multidisciplinary care team in the
promotion of person-centred care and disease prevention.
An advocate for the individual sister and their family. Strive?to
provide a warm, loving and safe environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO;

* Report and consult with the Health Care Coordinator on clinical
issues as appropriate
* Maintain appropriate and accurate written nursing records and
reports according to professional standards
* Demonstrate flexibility by rotating / assisting in other required
areas to meet resource needs and the requirements of the?Sisters
* Promote a positive health concept with the?Sisters?and
colleagues and contribute to health promotion and disease prevention
initiatives as relevant
* Support the work of the carers as appropriate, to include
education updates as required.
* Participate in the development of policies / procedures and
guidelines to support compliance with legislation, for the safe
storage and administration of medicines and other clinical products
* Participate in the development of policies / procedures and
guidelines?with health, safety, fire, risk management
* Comply with the principles of clinical governance including
quality, risk and health and safety in the workplace
* Participate in the development, promotion and implementation of
infection prevention and control guidelines
* Undertake other duties as required by the Health Care Coordinator
and assume responsibility for and coordinate the management of the
facility in the absence of the Health Care Coordinator.
* To support, promote and actively participate in sustainable
energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low
carbon and efficient house and comply with our waste policy.

ABOUT YOU

You will practice nursing care safely and effectively, fulfilling your
professional responsibility within your scope of practice and in
accordance NMBI. The ability to plan and organise effectively, to
provide a quality service. Show respect, dignity and compassion
towards caring for the Sisters. Be skilled at building and maintaining
relationships and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary
team. The ability to work independently as well as part of the
multidisciplinary team.

You will demonstrate you possess the below essential criteria.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses &
Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cn?imhseachais na
h?ireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to
be registered. You must maintain annual registration.
* Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly
discharge the functions of the role
* Possess a relevant qualification in Geriatric Medicine for the
Elderly, or at least 2 years experience in the discipline.
* Compassionate, highly empathetic, with a strong level of Emotional
intelligence
* A commitment to continuing professional development
* The ability to be flexible in relation to hours of work

* Demonstrate professional knowledge and experience across the Staff
Nurse General scope of nursing practice.

* Nursing Procedures & Techniques
* Clinical Interventions
* Patient Observations
* Ward Management
* Medicines
* Clinical Governance, Risk, Health & Safety
* Administration and education of team.

* Sufficient clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills?and
evidence-based practice?to carry out the duties and responsibilities
of the role_._
* Effective analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
* Fluent English is required in order to carry out the duties and
responsibilities.
* Proven IT skills and a willingness to engage and develop these
skills relevant to the role
